WellCare of Kentucky Behavioral Health Pre-certification Phone Line

Thank you for your continued partnership in serving WellCare of Kentucky members. There has been an update to our precertification services.

Beginning June 1, 2025, the WellCare of Kentucky Behavioral Health Pre-Certification phone line will be discontinued. Requests for inpatient, residential treatment, and partial hospitalization care will no longer have a live review option to discuss medical necessity when calling WellCare of Kentucky to report the admission.

Authorization requests, including all supporting clinical documentation, can be submitted using any of the following options:

• Wellcare (Medicare) Fax: 1-888-365-5615

If additional information is needed to complete the medical necessity review, the WellCare of Kentucky behavioral health utilization team will submit a request for additional documentation.
